dance puppet performance
duration of the show: approx. 60 min.
Before we are even born, we are all swimmers. Pávánky is a dream world of a sailor, who " …nearly sailed around world on his sail boat". Through the dance, lighting, marionettes and live music four actors tell a tale and nonsensical stories inspired by poetic book Uspávanky by Jan Skácel. This production is a cooperation of Czech, Slovak, Hungarian French partners, unique with is combination of dance and marionette theatre. Skácel's book, intended for children, can also be found in the library in the section for adults and this production accordingly, full of fantasy and games, will please all spectators regardless of age.
The movement part of the staging draws inspiration from contemporary dancing techniques, nonverbal and comedy theatre. It is an attempt to connect rational theatre with irrational theatre. Narrative epic puppet theatre joined together with dance, which stirs our senses and opens up the way to our subconscious.
And all of this tied together with live musical accompaniment and excerpts from the work of Jan Skácel.
